Portraits 18 and 19

Well... All I can say is that it was a very busy, yet fun weekend. xD lol... I have to catch up on all my projects too.

These two paintings were master copies of works from Elisabeth Le Brun and John E. Millais (respectively). For the second one (a portrait of Alice Gray) I attempted to use the same palette from the first piece (Hyacinthe Gabrielle Roland).  Turned out okay, 'cept in the AG portrait, the kid's eyes were huge and the version I painted the eyes are itty bitty things... If anything I'm really happy with how the nose turned out for that one. xD

As for the first portrait, I was trying to not over render like how I've been in some of the other portraits I've done so far. It was so tempting to blend everything together to make it super smooth and what not. I think I did this one in an hour and a half... something like that it was definitely under 2 hours.

Technically I have another portrait due this Tues, but, meh. Going to save that for later today. I wonder if I also have enough time to throw in another landscape... hrm... guess we'll just wait and see.

Portrait 17

Not feeling it tonight, but I forced myself to get through it. Turned this into a 2 hr study. ...I just realized my highlights went missing. o___o;;; And that's one big forehead. Ffffffffffff.

Portrait 16

I tried to do something a bit different by switching programs. Rather than using Photoshop I used Corel Painter to stop myself from getting nit picky about small details. Also decided to use a different color for a change.  Done in 2 hours.

Portrait 15.2

Eh... couple days late with this one.  I guess that's what happens when you celebrate the end of summer day camp and decide to take a couple days off from painting.  Oops~ Will upload another portrait tonight. xD

Portrait 15

Wooo numba 15.  I didn't know who to do a portrait of, so I asked my sister and the first person she says is Chris Colfer. So here's a quick like sketch for today.  This time around I tried to really get the proportions down.  Hopefully it doesn't look (too) off.
Will actually get to painting it tomorrow.  Today was the last day of CUMC summer day camp, so that meant dinner and performance for the parents and the kiddies after a long day of play in GGPark, so yes, I'm wiped.  I didn't think I'd be this tired actually since I didn't have to wake up so early today.  I wasn't needed at the church this morning to pack lunches or to start prepping lunch for leaders, so that meant another half an hour to sleep, yay~  But, yeah, after day camp it was pretty much a mad rush to get everything set up for the dinner plus helping out with serving dinner. So glad I didn't have to cook said dinner.  Hopefully now I can get more practice in now that day camp is over.  :D

Portrait 14.2

I got the day off from work today, so that meant more time to mess around with Photoshop.  Re-visited the last portrait I was working on. The chin's a bit longer than it should be, but other than that I like how the way it turned out.

Portrait 14

A quick 1 hour sketch practice. Though it was probably less than that because I got distracted a lot... Totally not focused today. @__x

Portrait 12

... I just noticed that his nose looks a bit too long. xD Gah... Need to go back and check proportions next time.

Break from Portraits

Decided to do a digital landscape instead.  I did work on a couple of quick portraits in gouache, but I will upload those at a later date.  I'll definitely do a color version of this once I tweak it a bit.

Portrait 11

I always keep forgetting that I have to submit something once every other day. . . *sigh*  Well, here's a 2 1/2 hour portrait of Hedy Lamarr that was due yesterday.

Portrait 9

Idk what is up with today, but I'm just not feeling it. It was a bit difficult to push through today. Nevertheless here's a portrait line sketch of Eleanor Parker as the Baroness Elsa Schraeder from The Sound of Music.
